- SMS: bulk SMS in India needs DLT registration of your sender ID and every template, and messages are paid per SMS to a provider. 'Free software' rarely includes the messages.
- WhatsApp: on the WhatsApp Business Platform, Meta charges per delivered template message, billed through your provider. Someone always pays for fee and absence alerts.
- Payment gateway: online fee collection carries a gateway commission per transaction, whoever the software vendor is.
